About
Therese Taylor
I'm a trauma-focused psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner working with adults in Twickenham and Richmond, and online across the UK. I help people experiencing anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and the lasting effects of difficult experiences to feel steadier, more understood, and more in control of how they respond to life's challenges.
Background & approach
My approach is integrative, relational, and collaborative. I draw on a range of evidence-based methods — including EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and trauma-focused approaches for PTSD and complex PTSD — tailored to what each person needs. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe and manageable, building stability and resilience alongside processing what's happened.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent years in Learning & Development, coaching, and HR, supporting people through change and pressure — experience that still shapes how I work today. I'm a BACP-accredited member, and alongside my client work, I offer trauma-informed clinical supervision for therapists, as well as reflective practice and wellbeing support for organisations and care teams. This includes helping organisations look after staff wellbeing, and supporting engagement and retention through reflective practice groups and trauma-informed approaches to workplace pressure.
Values & philosophy
"I believe in a collaborative, non-judgemental approach — working at a pace that feels safe, and tailoring what we do together to what each person actually needs. Real change comes from building stability and resilience alongside doing the harder work of processing what's happened."
